Looking to go a little bold this Christmas? I was scrolling though Instagram when I came across my favorite new obsession, black and gold Christmas trees.
Yes, I know they are not for everyone, but if you’re reading this post then you are part of the select few who appreciate that modern, elegant look.

Pulling off a Black and Gold Christmas Tree Combo
There are a few different ways to combine black and gold in your Christmas tree décor. I made sure to add ideas for everyone, from full goth to black accents
In this post we’re covering:
- Black Christmas tree with black and gold ornaments
- Natural Christmas tree with black and gold ornaments
- Black Christmas tree with gold ornaments
A black and gold Christmas tree is the perfect way to mix a little gothic drama with whimsical elegance. If you love something that stands out but still feels classy, these ideas will be right up your alley.
Black Tree with Gold Ribbons
Starting out with my favorite look, I love a black Christmas tree with gold-toned décor, and this tree by Christmas Tree World is exactly that.
I know black Christmas trees don’t always look the most festive, but hear me out , what’s not to love about this tree? The gold ribbons and multicolored gold-and-black bows are so eye-catching. I love, love, love the huge gold flowers. I love how the whole tree came together and to me this just screams perfection.
If you want something that feels a bit different but still super glamorous, this style is for you. The gold really pops against the black branches and makes the whole tree sparkle at night.

Black Tree with Round Bronze and Gold Ornaments
This one is similar to the tree I mentioned before, but instead, Dominique of Delrey home focuses on using gold décor ornaments as the main component.
She combines a mix of gold and bronze-gold ornaments with some black ornaments and black bows. It just looks so well put together. The soft mix of warm metallics with the black accents creates a tree that feels both modern and timeless.

Natural-Colored Tree with Black and Gold Ornaments
If you don’t want to fully commit to a black tree, I give you this beautiful idea by Dominique of @delrey_home (she does amazing gothic-inspired décor ideas so please go give her a follow).
The attention to detail in this tree is amazing. You have a mix of round black ornaments with some black-and-gold accents. There are those small black roses plus my favorite décor element: the string lights. They give a subtle glow without being too bright and really make the black ornaments shine.
This is a great way to dip your toes into the black-and-gold trend without going all in. You still get that elegant vibe while keeping the natural green tree that feels classic for Christmas.

Natural Tree with Light Ornaments
If the above options are a bit too dark for you, you will love this tree by @marissa_cunningham. It gives off that cozy, maximalist vibe that I can’t get enough of.
Starting off with a natural tree color, she added some black and gold round ornaments and, of course, stuck to the black theme with those beautiful black-and-white ribbons. And lastly, the pièce de résistance, that stunning Christmas tree topper.
I don’t know how she managed to put that Christmas tree topper together because it is just breathtaking. The black flowers, pampas grass, and little details are absolutely divine. It’s dramatic but still so warm and inviting.

Frosted Tree with Gold Ornaments and Black Ribbons
Lastly, we have this tree shared by Virginia Fynes of @vfynes, and it is the epitome of a winter wonderland–inspired Christmas tree.
Starting off with a white frosted tree, we have those stunning embellished gold and silver ornaments. I love how they added the large draping ribbon to add some contrast to the very bold yet light tree. The black ribbon makes the gold ornaments stand out even more and gives the frosted branches that extra bit of drama.
This style proves that even a classic frosted tree can be dressed up with a little unexpected edge.

I hope you find this post inspiring. Which Christmas tree color scheme do you plan to go with this year?
Whether you’re drawn to the moody look of a black tree or you just want to sprinkle in a few black ornaments for contrast, a black and gold Christmas tree is such a fun way to bring a little modern glamour into your holiday décor.
